Katherine "Katie" E. Halasz - Obituary

atherine Edith "Katie" Halasz, age 37, of Wells, Maine, passed away on April 26, 2024 at her sister's home in Maryland. Katie was the definition of a warrior, displaying incredible strength and willpower in the face of numerous health challenges throughout her life. Despite battling diabetes and numerous other medical setbacks, she always fought hard and surprised her loved ones with her resilience. Katie had a vibrant spirit and a touch of spunk, even during tough times. She was one of a kind. Katie adored Cinderella, Stitch, and Tinker Bell, and had a special love for her fur babies, occasionally dressing them up. In recent years, she developed a fondness for Disney-themed Legos, enjoyed attending hockey and baseball games, and embraced little adventures on the days her health was good. She made a great friend who always encouraged her to go out with us even on out of state adventures. Katie had a love for cooking and finding new recipes for us to try. Katie loved her Mom and Dad so much she would find any excuse to call home even to ask cooking questions she already knew the answer to. Katie loved her niece and nephew so much. She loved every adventure they had, game they played or Legos they built together. There are so many things that made Katie special to all she met. She is survived by her mother Roberta Halasz, father Stephen Halasz, sister and best friend Melissa Boe, brother-in-law Jason Boe, niece Taylor Boe, and nephew Stephen Boe. Katie's family meant the world to her, and she cherished moments playing Monopoly and Uno with them, basking in the sun with a good book, and her fur baby by her side. A celebration of Katie's life will be held this summer with details to be announced. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
